TasteMap (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile app, how we use it, and your choices. By using TasteMap, you agree to this policy.
TasteMap is operated by the developer of TasteMap. The app helps you explore street-food culture and track dishes you unlock. Some features need an account and an internet connection to our backend service.
Account data: If you create an account (email/password or sign-in with Google), we receive and store your email address and a unique user id. We may store a display name or username you provide.
Usage and progress: We store which foods you unlock, timestamps, and related game data (for example achievements) on our servers so your progress syncs across devices.
Location: With your permission, we access device location when you use features that require verifying you are in a country to unlock a dish. We do not sell your precise location.
Photos: With your permission, you may take or choose a photo when unlocking a food. Images you submit are stored so we can associate them with your unlock record as described in our data collection summary.
Diagnostics: Our hosting provider (Supabase) and platform services may collect limited technical data (for example IP address, device type) typical of cloud APIs and authentication. We do not use third-party advertising trackers inside the app for profiling.
We use your data to provide authentication, save progress, show maps and statistics, and improve reliability and security. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
If the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performance of a contract (providing the app), legitimate interests (security, improvement), and consent where required (for example location or camera access).
We keep account and progress data while your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see below). Some records may be retained briefly for security or legal obligations.
TasteMap is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete it.
Our service providers may process data in the European Union, the United States, or other regions. We use contractual safeguards where appropriate.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this website and adjust the “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
